Dropbox Professional Free Trial stopped immediately after canceling

Dropbox Professional Free Trial stopped immediately after canceling

Hi,

I started the Free Dropbox Professional Trial (for 14 days) on 12/31. To be safe I cancelled the subscription in order to test the Trial without autmatic renewal.

Today (2/1) I'm looking into my account and I wondered why I'm already back the the Dropbox Basic although I still should be able to use the Professional for ~12 days!?

Can you please help me?

Thanks

Martin

I contacted support and the information on the website is WRONG.

To future trial users: please do not cancel your (professional) trial before the period ends. It will be ended immediately when you cancel.

Support said they will have a look at changing the website info. I am not getting my free trial back by the way.

I'm afraid once its cancelled it is cancelled.

Dropbox has done what you said - cancel the trial. This is said in the popups when doing so.

Hi Mark and Martin-G,

I have the same problem. I wanted to try a Dropbox Professional free trial today (30 days). I cancelled immediately after starting it to prevent paying for automatic renewal and my plan dropped back to Basic.

My main problem is that it is described here that after cancellation, your trial will still complete the trial period, if you paid with creditcard, which I did:

https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/cancellations-refunds/cancel-free-trial

"If you signed up with a credit card, your account will be downgraded at the end of the trial period. If you signed up with PayPal, your account will be downgraded immediately."

So, I am not sure how Martin G payed, but I think Dropbox has wrongly ended my trial and I would like to get it back!

Thanks,

Mirjam

Hi MirjamA,

interesting!

I also paid by credit card. Unfortunately my account was downgraded immediately after cancellation as described... 😞
