Storage space
I am a free account user with just the basic 2 GB of space. My computer shows I have 715MB and my dropbox app also confirms I have 1.8GB unused space.
So why am I getting messages saying my Dropbox is full and will no longer sync files?
I also have 250GB spare capacity on my computer's hard drive.
What does www.dropbox.com/home show in terms of files? Is that the same as on your machine?
What about www.dropbox.com/account/plan ? That is the quota that matters

www.dropbox.com/account/plan shows I'm using 0.9 GB of 2.75 GB
Files on computer match those on dropbox
I'm guessing I should assume messages from Dropbox saying I'm out of space are just a ploy to get me to sign up for paid account then, and can just be ignored!!
Thanks

Didn't help me. Validated that my storage is in my "Plan" which shows I have plenty of space left.

Do you have enough hard drive space? Are you sure the error isnt from your computer?
Dropbox wont be saying it cannot sync if you have space according to the website.
Can you post a screenshot?

My account says that I'm using 54gb of space, but the files shown are using less than 2gb. All was fine before I was asked to trial a paid account, and the trial expired.

Hi sapelzin, how are you today?
When you access your plan page, you can find a breakdown of all your content. Do you have any shared content that's taking up space to the account?
What do you see on your home page?

Thank you for your response. My plan page says that I'm using 54 gb. When I look on my mac, it says the files take up 344mb of space. The same files are listed on my mac and on my Dropbox home page.

Hey sapelzin, could you maybe try another browser and let us know if you see any difference?
Also, can you check your account's home page and calculate the size of any folders you may have stored there?

I tried another browser and had the same results with 54.1 gb used. I don't see a size column for the file list and I don't see how to add columns:
