Dear Dropbox team,
first, let me describe the issue:
since 5 days, I'm having immense problems with my XPS15's built-in WiFi (and I'm pretty sure it's Dropbox). It started with a public, login-secured network at one of our offices, where I wouldn't get redirected to the "success" page and everthing was loading extremely slow. I then continued to use another WiFi of our company which has a normal WPA2 security, where I could easily login. But the internet was again really slow and responses came delaying. After a few minutes, WiFi shut off completely and I needed to reboot in order to see any wifi networks again (the taskbar icon still showed "connected and internet available", but in reality it didnt load anything anymore). Same process again and again (you can read below what I already tried in order to fix it).
I also tried pinging our routers standard gateway, where I had losses of packages every time. The losses were only at 25% directly after connecting to the network and then continued to rise to 100% in the following minutes, meaning the connection was dead.
Back home, I tried to use my private network, and the behaviour wasn't as bad as at the office, but still comparable frustrating. After a few minutes the connection starts to "crawl" and eventually breaks completely again, where only sometimes it would help to de- and reactive the network adapter but in most cases, only a reboot would do it. When it occured, Windows even had struggles showing WiFi networks at all.
It was yesterday that it even came into my mind to try and kill the dropbox processes in order to see if it has something to with that. And yes, killing the processes would then bring my WiFi back to normal! So I think we can be for sure it is Dropbox, also because the automatic background update would explain why the problem occured from one day to another, without me noticing or doing anything special. The release date of the build would also fit in here.
Continue...
As I first thought my network adapter was broken or Windows messed it up with an update, I already tried every possible fix I could think of:
Un- and reinstalling the network adapter, rolling back to an older driver version, rolling back Windows updates, trying another DNS setting, using the Windows network reset function (and of course the automatic network troubleshooter - haha), checked for viruses, turned off any firewalls and antivirus, resetting the IP/TCP stack, releasing the IP adress, renew the IP adress, flushing and resetting the DNS cache, resetted the hosts file, and so on. Of course I also tried reinstalling Dropbox (which is extremely frustrating with about 700.000 files....!). Also, the bandwith of Dropbox was always limited, but I think even if not, it wouldn't have such effects while syncing like, 3 files.
We now found to have the problem on another work machine.
We need immediate business support, Dropbox! This is ridiculous!

We can't wait another day right now... The bug renders 2 important devices useless, maybe more?
It was always limited. Also, this shouldn't break a hotspot login, or does it?
Thanks.
