Reset Email - there was a typo in the email when the account was created, what can I do?

Hi. When I signed up for DropBox I accidentally typed my email in wrong. Now, I need to get a link that someone shared with me to the correctly typed out email. I go to settings, try to edit my email, but it says I need a password to reset the email... It tells me it's going to send the password reset email to the email address that is typed out wrong. How do I fix this? Is there a customer service phone line? The chat bot has no idea what I'm talking about.

I'm afraid you will probably find it easier to set up a new account as Dropbox have repeatedly said they wont alter emails of accounts who they cannot get email verification of - especially if you are a free user.

Wrong e-mail

Hi,

 

I really don't know how this happened, but my account was set up with the wrong e-mail.


My e-mail address is exactly the same but with a _ (underscore) instead of a . (dot).

 

So currently I'm signed in, the only log with the account was from this same laptop, there has never been any activity (no files uploaded / downloaded), but I can't sign in from any other device because 1) I don't remember the password, 2) the e-mail address is wrong.

 

Is there any way to change it?

Hey @AndresaAE-Sorry to hear about this.

Was this a brand new account? If so, you can create a new one with the proper email address.

If you remember the password, you can change the address from here: https://www.dropbox.com/account

But since you don't, I suggest you make a new account with the desired address.
