can't receive sign-in code, because my email account no longer exists

can't receive sign-in code, because my email account no longer exists

Hi everyone - I'd be grateful for help!

I have a dropbox account which is linked to an email-address that no longer exists. I forgot to change the email contact in my dropbox account before closing the email account!

Now I can't sign into my dropbox - I think I even still have the password - but they are asking me for a 6 digit code, which was sent to the old (not existing) email address.

Any ideas what I could do?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi @Lea111, thanks for messaging today!

Generally, for security reasons, in order to login to your account you'd need to enter the 6 digit PIN sent to your email address.

If you've deleted the email address, is it possible for you to recreate it and then attempt to login to the account again?

Keep me updated with any progress!

I am having this same problem and unfortunately, since my email was a student email It cannot be recreated. I've checked with the school already. Is there anything I can do? I don't even think two-step verification was a thing when I created the dropbox.
