My storage is full, and I have issues deleting my Backup, can't get it right.
Hi
I'm becoming quite frustrated as my storage space is full even though I've deleted most of the files. I think the backup is the issue, but I've followed all the links to deleting backups but nothing works.
One suggestion took me to a page with this wording:
"To delete your computer backup:
- Click the Dropbox icon in your taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac).
- Click the Sync and Backups tab."
I don't have this option - clicking on the icon gives me two tabs - Sync History or Activity, neither of which give me the delete options.
I set up my DropBox account a long time ago on an old pc. Deleting a backup should really be a simple task but in my opinion DropBox make it difficult to encourage people to upgrade. This policy has actually pushed me the other way.
I'd really appreciate someone from DropBox showing me how I do this, please.

Hey Mark312, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you please navigate to your backups page and let me know if you're able to disable or delete your backups from there?
Also, what's your plan tab reporting exactly In regards to your quota?
Keep us posted!

Thanks Walter
On the Backups page I click on the one named PC (there is another named PC(1) which shows as Unlinked)
When I try to delete I see the pop up below:
Neither option "Backup Settings" or "I don't have access" allow me to go further.
The Plan tab shows me this:

Do you have the desktop app installed on the mentioned computer at the moment Mark312?
If so, can you navigate to the backups tab from the app's preferences and see if you can disable it from there?

Thanks,
Screenshot below.
I can't see any option except Manage backups - clicking on this just asked me to set up a new backup.

Thanks for the screenshot and the additional information there Mark312 - much appreciated.
I'm not sure if this will work, but could you try clearing your browser's cache or try another browser to navigate to your backups page and see if you can delete your backups from there?
Also, on your backups page, do you see the Beta label anywhere on your screen?

Hi Walter
OK, cleared cache for Firefox (I usually used Chrome)
Logged into online Dropbox with Firefox, found backups. Was unable to delete - got the following pop up:
I clicked "I don't have access" but it then asked me to unlink the pc - not sure how that would help so didn't proceed.
Yes, it says Beta when logged in through Firefox.

Hi Mark312, did you have another computer connected to Dropbox at some point, or is still connected and trying to backup to the site?
Can you see another device on this page?

Thanks Jay
I'm not sure what you mean by connected to DropBox. I first set up my account a long time ago and I've probably logged in on at least 8 - 10 different pc's since then.
On the list of Connected devices I don't recognise the one called DESKTOP-PUMP350. The location of Preston makes sense, but all of my pc's here are Windows 10, there's just one I can't check at present as it's at home.

By connected to Dropbox, I mean that you signed into the Dropbox desktop application on a computer. As you mentioned you have another machine, it's possible that this is the computer that is also backing up to the site, which is why you can't disable it from your current machine.
When you next have access to that machine, check to see if the backup is enabled, and then disable it to free up the quota on your account.
