Thanks for the screenshot, @Lyn14! From your screenshot, it looks like you’re previewing the file on the Dropbox website.

Can you please click on the “Open in” button above the preview, and open your file with Excel for the web instead? Do you still see the dates in the US format then?

If yes, do you see any option to switch to the UK format instead?

I find the same often happens 😞

Do check, however, that in Account Settings (https://www.dropbox.com/account/general) your date format is set correctly.

Thank you for your reply.  I had not realised there was a format date in the dropbox but having checked it was the UK format.

So not sure what to do.

Hey @Lyn14, would you mind sending us a screenshot of where you're seeing this?

Also, how are you adding the file to Dropbox?

Thanks for the screenshots, @Lyn14.

So, are you opening the file locally on your computer to edit it?

How does the file appear when you're previewing it on dropbox.com, does it have the correct date format there?

Hi I sent 2 Screen Shots. I am at home when I open the spreadsheets

1. is the computer shot - with the UK date format

2. is the same spreadsheet but up loaded into the dropbox which then changes the format USA

Hope I am explaining myself

Hey @Lyn14 - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if you're seeing this behavior with only this specific file or if it's affecting others as well?

Does your spreadsheet contain any macros by the way?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

Hi Walter, feel free to jump in.

We are volunteers for a charity Dog Rescue and using the Dropbox for up to date information, so not computer savy.  I do not think so to Macros.

There are only 2 spreadsheets on here and both have UK format for  the date both once uploaded to Dropbox change to the USA version,  This is confusing if the date UK 3/5/23 turns and shows 5/3/23 especially as we are transferring paper copies on to the computer, and then putting them into date order.

Hi again, Lynn!

If you open the file from your account on dropbox.com (from any computer), how does it look? Does it have the correct date?
