Dropbox unavailable when saving files from Google Chrome on Chromebook

Dropbox unavailable when saving files from Google Chrome on Chromebook

Hello,

I linked my Dropbox account to my Chromebook's filing system and am able to navigate to these files using the File Manager app just fine. The issue is that when I save files from the Chrome web browser, my Dropbox account does not appear as an available save-to location.

Here is a screenshot showing I can access Dropbox via file manager:

And here is a screenshot showing my options when I go to save a file via the Chrome browser:

Device info:

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 2-in-1

Google Chrome OS Version 93.0.4577.107 Official Build

Is there a fix or workaround for this issue?

Thank you!

Hi @big_acorn564, thanks for posting on the Community!

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Thanks for the reply! I am on the Dropbox Plus plan. I deleted Dropbox, restarted my device, and reinstalled Dropbox - no change. Still no Dropbox folder for me to save files to directly from a web browser.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like this feature isn't available on the Chrome OS.

If you wish, you can suggest this change for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future.
