Hi there dianam1, thanks for using Dropbox and happy Monday!

Could you please send me a screenshot of the error you get so that I can have a further look into this?

Also, do you get any different results if you do this through our website?

    Let me know!

I've also been having this problem for a few weeks, and it's slowing me down! How can I continue to use Dropbox via my finder without getting these roadblocks ("Grant File Access" that won't let me access)?

Is there a problem with syncing?

Hello, Stephanie T.3, and thank you for posting today!

Can you let me know your app's syncing status

Keep in mind that a screenshot of what you see on your end when you try to open a file would be more than welcome, so we can have a visual of this.

    Thanks!

In the example shown in the two screenshots below, I tried to open a PPT file created a few months ago and was unable to.

My "smart sync" setting has been on, but last night I turned it off to see whether that would help. Maybe I should close all apps, reboot, and start over?

I hope someone can help me because I'm losing productivity trying to sort out this problem.!

Hi Stephanie T.3, the two screenshots are identical and aren't showing enough detail.

Could you try re-uploading them if these images aren't showing the correct info?

I changed  the syncing status to enable files to be saved locally, on my app, as well as on Dropbox, and I think this is the answer to my problem.

Thanks, everyone, for the tips and suggestions.
