Loss of color sharpness when I download HDR videos

Loss of color sharpness when I download HDR videos

I noticed that videos I uploaded from iPhone which were shot using HDR, appear washed out when I download them to my PC. I upload these videos using the Dropbox app for iPhone and they appear fine in the app and on the website. It's not an issue with my PC because the HDR videos I download directly from iCloud aren't washed out.

I feel like it has to do with the act of downloading them to a PC because when I download the videos back to my iPhone, the videos are fine.

Is there a way to prevent the videos from washing out when downloading them to PC? Of note, I am using Windows 10 (note sure that is relevant since videos downloaded from other sources are fine).

Hi @dbthrowa, thanks for messaging us!

It could be an issue with the codec used for the video, since your computer and phone would have different methods to reproduce the video.

Have you tried using a different video player on your device to see if this helps?

Additionally, how exactly are you downloading the videos onto your computer?

This will help me to assist further!
