Camera uploads picture quality is not original
Device Oneplus 13 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 16, OxygenOs 16.0.2 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 454.2.2 Syncing Status OK Question or Issue When dropbox automatically uploads newly captured photos by my phone and uploads them to the 'Camera Uploads' folder, I am noticing that some* (NOT ALL) photos are being uploaded with a lesser quality. Resolution of the photo is the same, but the file size is significantly smaller, sometimes 60% less, and the picture quality is visibly very hazy. Is there some setting which I am not finding to fix this? *Some photos meaning that for example if I am out taking a set of say 10 photos, #1,#2 would upload with original quality/file size, while #3,#4,#5 will upload with lesser quality/file size, #6 with original, #7,#8#9 with lesser, and #10 with original quality. It's super random.
Photos tab in Dropbox online contains bookoo pics from way back.
I was surprised to find that the Photos tab in Dropbox online (i.e. at Dropbox.com) contains bookoo pics from wayyyy back. I've always deleted pics from the iPhone after naming and saving the ones I want to keep on my PC (in Dropbox folders of my own (conscious) creation). In Dropbox it says, "Camera uploads is turned off." Don't believe I've ever intentionally told Dropbox to save all photos.How can I force the mobile app to upload photos on Android?

I am experiencing the same issue as the original poster. I take a photo on my phone, and it does not immediately sync to Dropbox. I am on wifi on my phone, and I don't have any settings limiting upload to certain battery percentages. On my computer it says "Your files are up to date." I can open the app on my phone, navigate to the Camera Uploads folder and pull down to "force a refresh" but it does nothing. Going to the Photos tab at the bottom is even more useless, because you can't pull to refresh. I have to wait hours or days for it to decide to sync, which is frustrating when I want the photo on my computer immediately. I don't have any other apps that sync files or photos from my phone. When I go into the camera settings in the Dropbox app, I can even see the most recent photo (the one that won't sync) in the preview, it just does not show up in my Dropbox!
Organize and share Christmas photos with Dropbox
Christmas is definitely a time of year that I find myself taking more pictures than normal. Meeting up with family and friends and wanting to capture special moments means that I have my camera on more than I donât. If youâre anything like me, youâll want to be able to share all of these photos with those closest to you. Social media can be a good way to share photos, but there are definitely times when we might want to keep these photos within a private group of people, especially when family are involved, Dropbox makes it easy to share with exactly who you want. To start with, Iâll always make sure that my camera uploads are turned on. Youâve probably heard me talking about this a few times before, but Iâll stand by my words again because I love this feature, it saves me time, space on my phone and makes sure I never lose any photos, so itâs a no brainer for me. If you donât know how to turn on Camera uploads you can find all the information you need right here. Now that all my photos will be automatically added to my Dropbox account, Iâll figure out a way to organize all of the photos I take at Christmas into folders. Generally speaking, Iâll be meeting up with a lot of different groups of people on different days, so Iâll only want to share photos with the people that are in them, so Iâll start by making a Christmas folder, then inside that Iâll make folders for Christas Eve, Christmas Day, Stephenâs Day, New Years Eve and any other days I might be out and about. Then, dependent on what Iâm doing, I might make different folders within these daily folders, for example I might do Christmas morning swim and Christmas Dinner, or Stephenâs Day lunch and Stephenâs Day drinks. Once Iâve got my folders created and all my photos put in the right place, it makes it really easy to share with all of the other people who I was with. To do this, all I need to do is create a view-only shared link to the folder I want to share, and share it with everyone who I was with when I took those photos, or anyone else I want to see them. This link will allow anyone with access to it to view and download the photos inside that folder. If youâre not sure how to create shared links, you can find out everything you need to know here. Now, if your friends and family are anything like mine, youâll know there are 2 types of people, those who take photos and those donât. When I want to add photos that friends or family took to my collection, I use file request. This allows them to simply add their photos, which then go directly to my Dropbox account, allowing me to easily add them to the folder they belong in.
