5001 TopicsApril 2025 update causing lag upon double-click
The latest update (~April 28?) added a separate Status category to my windows file explorer showing green circles with check-marks for files that are synced. Now when I double-click on folders or files to open them, there is a lag and the field to edit the folder/file name often comes up instead of opening the folder or file. To avoid this, I must wait until the green Status circle shows up before double-clicking the folder or filename. This waiting time was not present in the past, and is slowing down my productivity! Is there any way to go back to the old version with green status symbol as part of the icon, and rapid response upon double-clicking? Thanks in advance. Hi! I have a 1tb hard drive, and just added 600gb of files to a local folder that dropbox is set to sync to. Since then, Dropbox has created an extra 500gb worth of "clone files" in a root mount, group containers folder. My hard drive is now completely full and I'm unable to back up my original files. Are these dropbox clone files just temporary? Can I only back up files to the cloud if I have more than twice the amount of local drive space available?100Views0likes7CommentsMake available offline not working on Mac OS 14.7.4
I am experiencing the same issue as many users. No matter how many times I ask my files to stored offline, some of them never sync, so I need to manually download them from my Dropbox online account and place them in my local folder again. This makes my workflow slow, and is absolutely against why I have Dropbox in the first place. As the title says, I can't check the sync status as none of the items are available on my Windows 10 Pro Dell Precision laptop, which is 8 years old. I read through several help articles, and I can't perform any steps as the articles reference items I can't see on my laptop. Do I wait for the sync status being available on the web page? Do I reload the app? Do I only upload using the web page? Where is the sync status on the web page?12Views0likes1CommentFiles with the blue cloud icon aren't accessible on Windows
I work in a team of 4 people and everything went well for years with dropbox and my team members. Then I installed a windows update (from W11-22H to W11-24H). After that update my problems begon. Not all the files are accessible anymore for my pc, For the other team members and on my smartphone everything remains ok, but not on my own pc where the dropbox app is installed. With the windows file viewer I get the icons 'blue cloud' and a 'green V'. The files with the cloud icon are not accessible. New added files are also not visible on my pc. With the dropbox app i can do an see everything with all the files but with the file viewer I have those problems. I have the feeling that the synchronisation between dropbox cloud and my pc is gone/broken/interrupted How can I solve this problem ? Thank you for your answers/solution. Hello, My dropbox stopped replicating of PC / Windows 11 So uninstalled and re-installed. At installation I get: error 1073741819 and installation fails all the time What should I do?Solved300Views1like23CommentsMy Windows desktop app got updated and my files are no longer available offline.
My Dropbox (Essentials) recently updated to v219.4.4463. After the update, it started syncing or indexing a large number of files, even though I didn’t change any of my settings. Since then, the sync icons for files and folders in Windows 11 Explorer no longer make sense. My default setting is 'Always available on this device', which should display the green circle with a checkmark, but a lot of old files now show the 'Available on this device' icon (white circle with a green checkmark). Additionally, many folders display the 'Sync pending' icon (blue arrows in a circle). However the taskbar status shows 'Your files are up to date', and there are no reported syncing issues. 'Save hard drive space automatically' is turned off, and the default setting for new files is 'Available offline'.Solved145Views0likes13CommentsSome files are not syncing from my desktop to my other devices
I have some files (not all) that are in Dropbox that do not sync/ update from my desktop to my hand-held devices. They updated for a long time but now have started not updating which is very inconvenient. Can anybody help, please? Thank you.302Views1like37CommentsThe desktop app is stuck connecting on my macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 and it doesn't sync new files.
I believe since I updated my MacOS to Sequoia 15.4.1 a few days ago, my Dropbox app has faced a connection problem and tells me very frequenly that it is 'Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment'. It seems that the app can at times connect to internet and upload my files, but most of the time it gives the message above and does not sync, which means that when I want to use an online-only file on my computer cloud, it will not download it, which is making the app useless. I saw a similar report from Mikkel1973 in the forum, which gives me more certainty that something in the new MacOS has changed that demands an upgrade from Dropbox to address it. Can you please advise? Thanks. I have a 3TB plan, and have restarted my computer and dropbox multiple times.Solved194Views0likes26CommentsHow can I move my local Dropbox folder to my external drive?
I've looked through the various posts and do not see anything that is specifically addressing how to do this. Right now, my Dropbox file is synced to my desktop so that files are visible either through the web or on my desktop. I need to move the automatic sync from my desktop to an external hard drive to free up space on my desktop. How to I change the setting in Dropbox to automatically sync everything to the hard drive and not my desktop?74Views0likes12Comments
