API -- Open File in Finder / Windows Explorer

Hi,   There was a request in 2015 for the API to replicate the feature on dropbox.com that lets a user click an "open" button to open the file on their local computer instead of in the web browser....

No, unfortunately there isn't an update on that.

I'm looking to do this same thing.
Anyone know if it's been addressed since 2018?
