Bulk download to user's account
Question or Issue
We've built a web app which downloads a large number of videos to our own Dropbox account and then sends them a link to access. However, as you might expect, our account is getting very large, and so we're now exploring how easy it would be for a user of our platform to trigger a bulk download to their own Dropbox account. Are there some instructions somewhere that might explain how this can be done, presumably with some authentication on their part?
Thanks!

You can find guidance on how to potentially approach this in our DBX Performance Guide.
The guide outlines best practices for optimizing large file operations and managing authentication securely when working with user accounts. It’s a great starting point for planning the kind of workflow you described.

Many thanks for getting back to me - although we already have that solution in place, we're uploading bulk video files to our own Dropbox account and then providing customers with a link to that. What we'd like to do now is change it so that we're uploading to our customer's Dropbox account (and not increasing our storage usage in the process), which presumably means we need them to authenticate via our platform and nominate a destination. Do you have any best practice guides that cover this scenario please?

We don’t have any specific guides that cover your exact scenario, but you can reference the Dropbox Developer Documentation for guidance on implementing user authentication and file uploads through the API.
That documentation includes details on how users can connect their own Dropbox accounts securely through your platform and authorize uploads to their chosen destinations.
