Tell Us How You Use Dropbox

File syncing between devices, pure and simple. Very little (if any, anymore) file sharing. No Passwords. No Dash. No Sign. No Office integration. ABSOLUTELY NO BACKUP!

100% vanilla file synchronization. The only other feature I used heavily was removed long ago. Pour one out for Carousel. 

I love a good list 😄 To keep track of each task I need to get done during the day, I use the checklist feature in Dropbox Paper. It makes planning way more fun and way less chaotic. 

I also adore file sync between devices Rich​. It's can be a lifesaver when I forget to charge my iPad (this happens more than I'd care to admit) and the file is right there on my phone! 

I use Dropbox for two main things. One, I’m an extreme fan of visuals, and collect pictures and artworks by the thousands. I feel much safer with Dropbox. I love Apple machines in a general way, and use Evernote for collecting ideas, but neither can sync and keep stuff safe like Dropbox can. 

Second, I write stories, often with pictures, and find Paper very useful. Why? Because it’s simple and limited, so it doesn’t distract me with thousands of features. I can just write, without worrying about which charming font to use. I actually wish I could switch a few more things off. Like Comments, which I don’t use. And I wish Paper had a reading-only feature. I’ll be reading a story on my phone, touch the screen a bit too hard, and I’m in edit mode. Very distracting. 

I heavily utilize Shared Links particularly because of the flexibility I have with permissions and expiring dates you can set. 

I utilize it to do mainly file requests to keep my tax customer's paperwork all in one folder.  Before Dropbox, they were emailing me W-2's and texting them and it took a lot of time to keep up with them and to find out how they documents were sent.  I also share individual folders with clients who keep their taxes on dropbox.  I use it for backing up my photos and quilting pantographs that I have stored for my longarm quilting business and keeping folders of annual tax customer scans and returns.  Each of my customers has their own folder...some are shared if asked and some are not.  Everything in one place.  It would be great if the Dropbox app for Apple had a file request button on it.  I have to sign into dropbox.com in order to do a file request or I just don't know how else to make it work for me.

I use Dropbox for file syncing, storing all my personal and freelance files,  and for sharing content (especially edited videos; I love how Dropbox encodes videos for easy view in web).

I use it for my Church Music.  This is as part of my job, and part for my volunteer work as a musician.  I organize and store various genre in different folders.  I love it!

File sync.

I also used to use it regularly to send files (not share files for co-working; send a link to allow people to download a copy of a file I had created). I get that this is the functionality of Dropbox Transfer but the way Transfer seems to work now is not clean for me. On mac, I used to right-click on a file in Finder and 'create dropbox link' would be one of the options. I send the link, done and dusted. Now it creates a Transfer, which sends me a million notifications I do not need. I can turn off the notifications for each transfer individually. But a) that option is not available when I use the right-click on the mac to create it, and b) I don't want to have to do it every time, I want it off by default.
