error not showing at embed
Hi, I have an error displaying the embedded part, although I have followed the instructions correctly, but when I show the 1MB pdf file link, it can be displayed, but the pdf link is over 9mb but it doesn't show up.
Hope to get help, thank you.
It used to work fine before, but it's only been there for a few days

Hey tranvu, thanks for joining our Community here.
Would you mind giving us a bit more info on the issue you're facing?
What are you trying to accomplish? Does this have to do with previewing this PDF file?
And if so, where? On the Dropbox website or mobile app?
If you can send us some clarifications and also a screenshot of the error you mention, that would be really helpful.
Thanks!

Thanks for the screenshots, tranvu.
Just to be clear, are you using the Dropbox API in order to embed the preview of the file to your website, or are you possibly trying to force a shared link to preview?

I have a file on dropbox and want to show previous preview on web page. so I used the a shared link to embed the preview of the file to your website.
thanks for your support

Hi tranvu, when previewing the shared link, are you using the raw=1 link to force it to render in a browser?
- tranvu3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
hi,
I don't use raw in share link, I got the link directly from the copy link button.
Note: I tried adding raw=1 or /s/raw to the share link but it still doesn't work (*dropbox.com/s/raw OR dropbox.com/s/..../file_name?raw=1) - Nancy3 years ago

Hey tranvu! Sorry to jump in, too.
You mentioned in the beginning of this thread that you followed some specific instructions. Can you please explain which steps you’ve taken exactly, so that we can isolate the issue further?

I followed the steps:
Step1: create and setting app on dropbox.com/developers.
Step2: visit dropbox.com/developers/embedder and follow the instructions "Setting up the Embedder".
Step3: Copy the link of the file in my dropbox account and replace it with the href in this code "<a
href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0bdwmkjmqld9l2/dbx-supporting-distributed-work.gif?dl=0"
class="dropbox-embed"
></a>". - Jay3 years ago

Thanks for the info, I've moved this to the API section for more specialist help.

Hi tranvu,
Seems there is some bug in Dropbox Embedder. Let's hope it will be fixed soon. In meantime you can use Jay's proposal for raw link embedding as a workaround (either permanent or temporary). I just check it out and it's working:
Good luck. 😉
