preview_url vs url
Hi, Could you please exaplain what is the differnce between preview_url and url field? Both of them are returned from the call sharing/get_file_metadata. The url field is part of the link_me...

9 years agoIt sounds like you're referring to the response from /2/sharing/get_file_metadata. That endpoint is released and is not in preview/beta, so you can use it in production.
The SharedFileMetadata.preview_url is documented as "URL for displaying a web preview of the shared file."
The SharedFileMetadata.link_metadata.url is documented as the "The URL of the link."
The former is for the shared file itself, and the latter is referring to the link for the shared file in particular. The URL may be the same for both fields.

Thanks for the response.
In the documentation for this endpoint, https://www.dropbox.com/developers/documentation/http/documentation#sharing-get_file_metadata, it is mentioned particulary for the field "link_metadata" that - "this is for an unreleased feature so it may not be returned yet".
Is this field valid for use now?
