Rev in the Path

"Deprecated. Please specify revision in path instead This field is optional." is stated in the documentation.   Does that mean, one should use just  { "path": "rev:a1c10ce0dd78" } as pat...

That's correct. The rev value uniquely identifies the file in the Dropbox, including path, so you don't need to add a path too.
