Zapier - 409 error path/not found
Hello everyone!
I'm trying to get the meta data for a file so I can access the "shared_folder_id" and then add a member (or group if possible) to that folder. It's on a team folder.
I'm using...

It looks like you meant to call /2/files/get_metadata, but based on the error message in the response body you actually called /2/sharing/get_folder_metadata (which takes different parameters, and so the call failed). Make sure you've configured that to call /2/files/get_metadata if that's what you intended.

Not entirely. Which specific issue are you having, because I had a few coupled together.
If you send over what you have and I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can help get you to the next step.

It looks like the issue I'm having is that the API request is returning "Null" instead of an "OK" or something like. This is by design according to the API documentation.
Zapier doesn't seem to have a way to deal with these API requests at the moment. Have you found a way around that?

Hi bblu2095,
Can you send a picture of the HTTP request your making as seen in zapier, and a picture of the "Test" tab after running a test? There's usually a response body for most API calls.

There isn't a response body for the API call, that's the thing. There is no "Data out" tab in Zapier, it just shows the Zapier error for "argument of type 'NoneType' is not iterable"
Here is what the logs look like:
And the Dropbox API documentation says:

I wish I still had the code for this, but now I remember this is where I stopped.
So I was getting a successful return (code 200), and the person was added, but it wasn't consistent because some folders only had a shared_id and some only had a parent_shared_id. I didn't understand the difference, or how to determine which folder is which, so I had to give up on it. It looks like some of our sub folders are one type, and others are another.
I believe the issue comes down to shared_id vs. parent_shared_id. Sorry I wasn't able to help after all. I hop you find a solution an would love to know what it is!
