Recipient of shared link says double-click does not work

I create a link to a file in Dropbox and email it to a user. The user says that when they double-click the link, it does do anything. Their expectation (and mine) is that double-click would open the file stored at Dropbox. My conclusion is that there's something wrong with their application. Nothing is wrong with Dropbox.
The email application is Thunderdird from Mozilla.
Thanks for your help.

Email applications will often block links. If that's the case, you'll either need to find the settings in Thunderbird which control that, or they can copy and paste the link into their browser. Dropbox doesn't have any control over this. Additionally, you normally just need to single-click a link to open it; not double-click it.
