Lost All Of my Law Practice Files after joining a team.
An opposing counsel sent me discovery responses on a Dropbox link. It would not open. So, he sent me an invitation to join a team so I could access the docs. Unfortunately, I accepted. It merged my office w his, which I had access to. And now that he’s unlinked me, as per Dropbox’ suggestions, I have NO files. It’s been a nightmare n I cannot work. About 100 client cases GONE. Any suggestions? Nina

He hasnt unlinked you. He's deleted you. Ask him to restore it and then unlink you, or, restore from your backups as that may be quicker.

That's scary. This person is not going to help me, Im afraid. He is not that invested. There must be another way. Nina

Hey Ninasada, sorry to hear about that!
I'm afraid that Mark is correct. If you joined a Dropbox Business team, the admin is the one responsible for your files. He will need to restore the account, then remove you from it, so that you can go back to your personal account.
They will need to remove you by converting your account to an individual Dropbox Basic account. That way, you'll lose access to the team content, but keep your account and your personal files.
Let me know if you have any questions.
