Re: Transferring photos to Dropbox

Thanks for responding. I’d like to just transfer my work photos. I keep albums for my clients but that doesn’t keep those photos out of my library. Trying to keep work and personal life separate so it’s easier to find things. Hopefully this makes sense. Will take me forever to go through all these pictures to organize separately- that’s why I want to make sure I do it right the first time.

Hi Kimcarsten , it sounds like you're using the mobile app, and specifically camera uploads to upload your content, am I right?

You also mentioned that you keep albums for your clients, but that doesn't keep these photos out of your library. Are you referring to the Photos versus Files tab on your mobile?

I only use photos on apple now. There’s no way to put pictures in an album and keep them out of my library so I’m trying to use Dropbox so I can move all my work photos out of photos and onto Dropbox. Once I get them over I’ll continue to have to move them once a week or once a month. Just trying to figure out the easiest and best way to start

Hi Kimcarsten , it all depends on what you use, and where the content is currently.

If you have these files locally on your computer, then you can use the Dropbox desktop app, in order to copy & paste the content from iCloud, to Dropbox and have them sync over to your account.

Essentially when you install, and use our app, a Dropbox folder is created with all of your content there. When you place your files there, they should sync to your account online.

If you're using the web, then you'd need to download them locally, and then use our website, in order to upload them to your Dropbox account.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Everything is in photos.  I want to transfer my work photos and delete them from my photos library at the same time to clean up my photos on April.

Hey Kimcarsten  - sorry to jump in!

Can you please clarify if you're using the Desktop app, mobile app or the Dropbox website?

And is it safe to assume that your content -work folders that you need to upload to Dropbox- is available on your desktop at the moment Kimcarsten  ?
