Background activity iOS from the mobile app.
Hi, Just notice that Dropbox keeps active in the background on iOS, even if i disable it in the settings from iOS. After some testing I found the problem, the integration with the files app causes...

6 years agoDo you have any camera uploads or manual uploads running in the background of the mobile app?
Are there any other apps on your device that connect directly to the mobile app via the iOS Files app, which could be keeping the Dropbox app active? If so, could you try quitting those apps completely to see if this helps with the battery usage?

Hi, I’ve already been asked about the Files app, and so I’ve already said no, it didn’t make a difference.
I have never wanted Dropbox to automatically upload anything from the camera roll, I practically never even use the iPad’s camera anyway, and I only upload anything when the screen is on, PLUS, the wifi was always off when it drained my battery, quite a head scratcher isn’t it?

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the mobile app, rebooting the device, and reinstalling it to see if this helps?
- AaronPowellDesign6 years agoExplorer | Level 3I’ve already tried that, which are basically the first things I tried... I have recently upgraded my iPad’s OS, so again, doing the most common troubleshooting does nothing to help me.

Same thing for me (iPadOS 14), Dropbox is getting hours of "background" activity in the settings>battery section. I tried uninstalling, rebooting and re-installing (because the other infamous "disappearing favorites" iPadOS bug), but it's still using battery like crazy (and the other bug is still there ).
