"Upload failed. We're sorry this didn't work.Try saving again later" error when working with Word.

Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
macOS15.7

dear
we are using Dropbox for Teams functionality to work simultaneously with colleagues on the same document. However, we frequently get a warning the autosave function has been switched off, and we end up with different copies after all.
The exact message we are receiving is: "Upload failed. We're sorry this didn't work. Try saving again later and if that still doesn't work, click Save a Copy."
Saving a copy is a totally unacceptable solution for us, since there are many changes in different places in a document (word file with hundreds of pages).
If anyone has an idea for coworking, I am highly interested :)

Did you check this with Microsoft in the end, harpadtum

If you did, and you still need our help, I’d love to know the info Megan asked for previously.

    Cheers.

Hey harpadtum, let's jump right into this!

Do you edit your Word files using the native app on your computer, or by the online version available via the Dropbox site?

Also, does this happen to all files or a specific one?

Provided that you're using the Dropbox desktop app to edit your Word files, can you try to quit it, and try again? Do you notice the same behavior when the app isn't running?

Keep in mind that I did some research online about the error you mentioned, and it seems to be coming from Microsoft's end, and not ours. You can also read more about this here.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
