Duplicate File Cleaner / Removal / Override
This is like vacuuming your house or office. Do you guys go without it for years on end? It's hard to believe this critical and essential feature does not exist. I currently have multiple folders that can be merged easily on windows, but not on Dropbox. One thing the Dropbox developers have to understand is that business accounts have larger amount of files on Dropbox than on their systems, and because of the painful speed of upload and download and the limitation of files that can be transferred at once (3000 files), it is not possible to do this on the desktop side. So there has to be a house cleaning tool that allows for maintenance and merging of duplicate folders and files. You can even find this on your phone these days. It is hard to imagine Dropbox for business customers do not have this option.

Hello Walter,
I am really surprised, because for about 6-7 month ago the Dropbox Staff explained that they are looking to implement this function !!!??? - Walter10 months ago

My request is for dropbox to include a facility in the application to find duplicate files. could be a list of duplicates to decide which on to keep. I have been waiting for this years now. I am positive that I am not the only one that will be using this facility. Cloud storage business is very competitive Dropbox has to be set apart and above others companies.

Correction: Google is notorious for NOT including simple functionality, Apple a little less so.

I've noticed over time that it seems the Tech world never delivers a fully functional product out of the gate. They glacially release "bug fixes & updates" for what should have been fully functional kit at the start.
Also, what's fundamentally useful (like the ability to "clean" wasted space) for the user is not always in the game plan for corporate profits, especially when those profits are derived from selling more wasted space. Not very green or sustainable, is it?
Google is notorious for including simple functionality, Apple a little less so.
It's all about money. It's only always ever, about money.

Hi
I would prefer to find both exact duplicates, similar files, it would be especially helpful if they could offer you options
Yes I would consider two image files that are different resolutions but the same image as duplicates, because sometimes if you received images through whatsapp, the resolutions is lower, and if you receive it else where then it would be consider as a duplicate file.
I would consider the original file that has highest resolution one.
Yes I want to see duplicates from across your Dropbox or select specific folders to scan, its helpful for you to identify the files.
Customization in consolidate the photos in same period would be great, sometimes the file name will be caused them apart, which is harder to organise the files.
it would be great to have an automatic function to bulk manage the photos to different places e.g. from 1 Jan - 14 Jan photos in London can have suggestion to move everything into one file for better review.
appreciate for your efforts in the new update. really look forward for a better version of Dropbox! 🙂
