Need to see if your shared folder is taking up space on your dropbox đšâđ»? Find out how to check here.
Hello. Can you please make it so that people are able to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" without it cancelling the automatic uploads after doing so and also make it so that people can simultaneously upload files from multiple albums in their device into separate folders on Dropbox? This will make it far easier everyone to organize everything, especially when sharing the folder(s) with others.
Point 1: As of right now, if someone were to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder to something else, let's say to "Andrew's Content," the automatic uploads will completely cancel future automatic uploads into that folder and create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads," resulting in 2 separate folders which is inefficient, can lead users to become very confused, and what can be seen as an error in the algorithm from my point of view.
Point 2: If a business has multiple people sharing their "Camera Uploads" folder to them, that business has no way to distinguish between which "Camera Uploads" folder belongs to whom, nor is the business able to change the name of the folder for themselves on their end. This is a major problem.
Point 3: When people want to set up automatic uploads from multiple albums in their phone named, let's call them 'Content 1,' Content 2,' and 'Content 3,' and have them saved in either the same and/or separate folders in Dropbox, they can't because it is not even a feature.
Can you please look into this and make these, what I think would be very beneficial quality of life, updates? Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
Thank you,
Andrew

Improvement of the points:
Point 1: As of right now, if someone, regardless if itâs the folderâs owner or shared entity, were to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder to something else, let's say to "Andrew's Content," Dropbox is programed to create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads," and it will completely cancel future automatic uploads into the original folder, resulting in 2 separate folders, one new one named âCamera Uploadsâ and one old one that was once named âCamera Uploadsâ but is now named whatever the folder name got changed to, where the old one no longer has automatic uploads. This can lead users to become very confused, is very inefficient, and is what can be seen as an error in Dropboxâs algorithm from my point of view.
To help with the understanding of Point 2, letâs recognize that a normal Shared Folder is slightly different from a Camera Uploads Shared Folder.
Point 2: If a business, or anyone for that matter, has multiple people sharing their "Camera Uploads" folder to them, that business has no way to distinguish between which "Camera Uploads" folder belongs to whom without first clicking into each one, nor is the business/entity able to change the name of the folder for themselves on their end to make it easier for organizational purposes. (If they were to change the name of the folder, then refer to Point 1) I think that this is very inefficient, cumbersome, and is an important issue.
Point 3: When people want to set up automatic uploads from multiple albums in their phone named, let's call them 'Content 1,' Content 2,' and 'Content 3,' and have them saved in either the same and/or separate folders in Dropbox, letâs call the separate ones âDropped 1,â âDropped 2,â and âDropped 3,â they can't because it is not even a feature.

Shared Folders can indeed be renamed or moved without impacting or changing anything. However, if a Camera Uploads shared folder was renamed by anyone including the entity that the folder is shared to, automatic uploads will completely cancel on the sharer's end. The program on the sharer's end will also create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads," resulting in 2 separate folders, one named "Camera Uploads" and the other to whatever name that the entity renamed the original Camera Uploads folder to, where any future automatic uploads will now be going into the newly automatically created folder instead of the old one

We are able to change any regular Shared Folder on our end, but if we did that for a shared Camera Uploads folder, it would unfortunately cancel the automatic uploads process on the other person's end

Have you tried that? I dont have any shared with me, but, Shared Folders can be renamed or moved at will without impacting or changing the initial persons folder name or location. I am not aware that this would work any differently.
