Personal plans with more storage
Hi! I used to have a paid personal Dropbox account, until I outgrew the 3TB of storage space. I downgraded to a free Dropbox account and started storing my files with a different provider. As a renewal of my subscription with this other provider is coming up mid-June, I was wondering if you are planning on implementing larger personal plans in the future? Ideally I'd love a package that has somewhere between 6 to 8TB.
Switching to a professional account is not an option, because:
- I already use a professional account from the company I work for, you can only use 1 personal and 1 professional account in the Dropbox software at the same time, and I don't want to upload my personal files to my company's account
- a professional account requires several licenses (3, I believe), while I only need 1
Therefore, I would like to suggest to implement the option to purchase a larger personal plan with more storage space than the current 3TB (of course the plan with 3TB should still exist for users who don't need more than 3TB).

Hi Neal,
Then what do you suggest for all these single-user people who have already purchased the 1 TB add-on for their Personal plan, and for whom the jump to the business plan makes no financial or functional sense?
If the real answer is "we expect you to leave Dropbox", I'd prefer you at least say that, rather than this vague and dismissive answer.
That way, I'd at least have some advance notice that I need to start prepping an alternative solution. Rather than waiting and hoping for this to be resolved.

I also want to see the single user plans have larger storage. I've outgrown the Essentials Plan at 3TB with a 1TB add on and the next option is way too expensive because it's a minimum of 3 users which means the price is tripled!! The chat experience was hopeless, as the person on the line (or chat bot) didn't think my grievance was justified. They treated me like I was the first one who had ever asked for this option, but having now seen these posts, I see others feel the same way. I've now looked at Google Drive and they can accommodate me. I really liked Dropbox, but they are not willing to grow with me, so I'm shifting to Drive. Very disappointed :(

Little to no votes and no Response from Dropbox going back 5 years. And i thought after being gone 2 years, Id see If yes.. Yhey had created more plan options for small business or individuals.. Its a shame..I see nothing has been done .It's clear that pnmce companies become big and needed the services and productivity just drops. As though they can easily afford to have members , customer account holders close and leave Dropbox. I am wondering what to do . I signed up for the free plan. They have 25 days to convince me to come back. Doesn't look promising.

There is a solution to all this:
1tb-5$, 3tb-12$, 10tb-20$, 18tb-30$ + add 1tb to each package 5$, 2tb - 9$, 3tb - 13$..
Not a bad option, right??
Guys, let's vote so that there will be changes in 3-6 months..!!

Yes thank you. It is crazy to me that they want me to upgrade to pay 10/TB a month versus paying 6.66/TB a month just to get 2 more TBs. The chat experience on the upgrade was frustrating, totally stonewalled on why this doesnt make any sense. It is a shame because I am in complete flow with all other aspects of the application.

I see many views and comments but few votes.
I reckon the voting system is too clunky for people, perhaps, and it doesn't reflect the true popularity of this idea.
I also don't see any major technical issues or work for Dropbox in implementing it.
So may I suggest Dropbox staff override the few votes it has and give this some attention....
I am reaching the limit of my individual 3TB and will be looking for some other way to store my material (instead of Dropbox) rather than being forced into a big cost leap by upgrading to a team account that I don't need. - jafnisa2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
This is according to my request to the Dropbox support team. The scenario is that the most basic subscription plan for storage is 2TB. I've been subscribed to this plan for almost 5 years, and my usage is only 1 % of 2TB (28GB). Only now I have come to my senses that it is such a huge waste of my money, to pay for the unused storage. Dropbox said they do not have smaller storage available that is like 1TB or even 500GB. I wish these options to be made available in the future:
An option for users to downgrade their storage, like my case to a smaller storage space.
Also option for a lesser storage subscription, for example, 1TB and 500GB.
Thanks.
