Viewing my files in a chronological order- especially necessary for photographs.
Viewing my files in a chronological order- especially necessary for photographs.
An example of the need for the photos that I put in a folder for a client is this- I photographed a construction site to capture existing conditions along a perimeter of a project. Itâs important that all the photos facing north be grouped together- one shot after another. If the client wants to follow along the walk and the conditions, it just doesnât make sense for the shots to be out of order. Not only that, it makes me look unorganized and unprofessional.
Another example is taking photos of a goalie at at soccer game. Doesnât it seem logical that the shots would reflect the action of the ball and the player in the order that the ball is played? Having the shots in order is a necessity. Having to search and arrange myself takes extra time.
I view this organizational tool as a priority. Thank you.

Hi Janet K.1â,
Thanks for posting this! I've been reviewing your idea and before I can open it up to votes, I just want to clarify a few things.
By chronological order, you mean the date and time the photo was taken and originally created, not when it was uploaded to Dropbox, correct?
I only ask because my initial thought was that this would essentially be achieved via your camera's naming format as they'd be numbered one after the other (mimicking a chronological order). However, I'm assuming due to the nature of your work, you may have to rename these photos, removing the numbered naming structure?

Hi Hannah: I am hoping that I could view in chronological order and also have my client view that way as well.
I use the website (on iPad) and also use the mobile app on iPhone.
Thank you for your help.

Hey Janet K.1, thanks for reaching out to our Community!
So, if I understand correctly, you're looking for a way to view photos in a folder in a chronological order.
Would you like to do that when viewing your own files or when you send someone a link and they're viewing the files on their end?
Also, are you looking to achieve this on the Dropbox website or the mobile app?
Any additional info that would help me understand exactly what you're looking for, would be appreciated.
Thanks!
