IE11 Error when using dropbox filepicker api

IE11 Error when using dropbox filepicker api

MAHESH S.
New member | Level 1

Hi,

In IE11, unless the browser explicetely adds dropbox.com to the trusted sites, the following error occurs when the file picker api was getting executed

The code on this page disabled back and forward caching. For more information, see: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=291337

And after that from the picker user cant choose any file as well with the following error

Please note that same dropbox apis to load the file picker and let the user choose the file works in all other browsers.

Can you please let us know what exactly is the reason behind the above mentioned error

There are two scenarios I'm aware of that can cause this:

1) X-UA-Compatible setting mismatch: If the X-UA-Compatible value set by your site doesn't match the Chooser, this can cause the communication issue.

2) Security level mismatch: If your site and the Dropbox site are in different security levels, this can also cause the communication issue. This is likely the cause here, as it would explain the the various inconsistencies we're seeing.

If the problem is being caused by #2, you should be able to fix it on the computers where you're seeing it by putting your site and dropbox.com into the same security level. (Normally this should already be the case, but perhaps your computers have your site listed in a different zone?)
