What happens with 500 linked users?

What happens with 500 linked users?

Hi all!

The question is: what happens with the app after it has 500 linked users?

I was searching for the answer in here (but did not find any)

Hi @Inna_13, thanks for messaging the Community!

Could you clarify this in more detail? What app are you referring to, the Dropbox desktop application or the mobile app?

When you say linked users, are you referring to members of a shared folder on the account, or are you sharing the account credentials with 500 users?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Oh. Let me clarify my request.

My app was freezed. As I understant from the developers' guide:

"the only way to unfreeze your app is to apply for and receive production status... Your app then functions the same as any production status app except that it can only be linked with up to 500 total Dropbox users"

So I wonder what happens if we have like a 1000 of users?

@Inna_13 I see you're referring to how the user limit works while an app is in development status, as documented here. While in development status, an app will be "frozen", meaning that no more users can connect it, once it reaches 500 connected users, or two weeks after it reaches 50 connected users, whichever comes first.

Once an app is frozen, no more accounts can connect it; attempts from other accounts to connect the app will result in an error. The app can be unfrozen by receiving production status. If you do need to be able to have a large number of users, such as 1000, connect your app, you will need to apply for and receive production status for the app.
