Dropbox Paper
4 TopicsAre "Team Paper Docs" related to the new release of Dropbox Paper or were we hacked?
Hello! Long, long time Dropbox user, first time community poster. We noticed that a new "Team Paper Docs" folder appeared at the top level of our Dropbox team folder, in the middle of the night when nobody works. Looking at the forum, I'm guessing it's similar to the people who have seen "Migrated Paper Docs" folders appearing (like this post: https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001017/unknown-folder-appearing-migrated-paper-docs/805075). None of our team uses Paper, but it's possible someone added a Paper file to a particular client folder in 2020/2021 but since deleted it. (the one folder inside "Team Paper Docs" DOES correlate to a project folder) In short, if this folder appearance is part of the long-standing Paper2020 update I've read about and this is normal, I would just like to confirm! While I'm not opposed to account password updates, I just want to ensure this isn't likely the result of a user's account being compromised or something. Thank you!Solved629Views0likes7CommentsWhy am I seeing guests accessing my Dropbox Paper document?
Hi there, I'm a big fan of Dropbox Paper and been using it for a long while. 2 questions: Is this product still being developed, or will it be sunset at some point? On my Dropbox paper document, I see several badges of many guest users viewed it at the top right corner, although the document is totally private and not shared with anyone. Should I be worried? I access the Dropbox Paper documents mainly through my laptop and sometimes from my iPhone; both are logged into my Dropbox account.126Views0likes9CommentsLost access to Dropbox Paper docs/folders
I lost access to a number of dropbox paper documents and folders after converting and then reverting my account from a personal account to a team account and back again (I then rejoined the team using a separate, team-specific account). I understand that this is the expected behavior for documents that were created from a team account and shared with other members of the team, however I also lost access to documents that: a) I created from my personal account before I joined the team b) I hadn't shared with any members of the team and c) I never accessed or modified the files, or their containing folders, while I was a member of the team Upon leaving the team, ownership of all shared paper documents and folders that I owned was transferred to the team admin regardless of the status of my account when the documents or folders were created or whether they were shared with any members of the team or not. A number of these documents contained sensitive, private information that the team admin should never have had access to. I recognize now that I should not have joined the team using my personal account, but I'm currently trying to resolve this situation and also point out an issue with how dropbox handles ownership in these circumstances. The team admin has transferred ownership of the affected files to my team account, but I'd like to have ownership transferred to my personal account where these docs belong. I've been unsuccessful in having this issue resolved through email support and I'm looking for feedback. Thanks!1.7KViews0likes9Comments
