Option to automatically lock a file.
We constantly have issues with conflicted copies! Yes - even though there is the badge that shows up, and even though file locking is an option if done manually. I've done research and MANY other systems support this feature. I've been a long-time Dropbox user, but am looking aggressively at changing due to this issue. It shouldn't have to be a manual process to prevent someone else from opening the same file I am currently working on and saving a conflicted copy. Who would remember to do a manual file lock each and every time they open a document?!
Offline edit option for the Dropbox Paper desktop app for MacOS
A major drawback in Dropbox Paper is not having the ability to edit while offline. It would be so beneficial to make it work offline, and then just sync/save when we're back online. It really limits the functionality when it's online-only. Thank you for your consideration.
Notification/warning when closing a locked file
My idea is about locked files and the problem that people forget to unlock it after they're done working in it. To avoid that people forget to unlock a file after they close it, it would be nice that you get a warning about the file still being locked when you close it. (in the same way an application asks you if you want to save changes before closing it) This notification would avoid the problem that a file stays locked for hours or days without reason, just because someone forgot to unlock it.
Easier editing of PDFs on mobile
It would be really useful if a couple of things were added to the editing of PDFs when using a mobile device. - For one, a simple way to add something like a tick or a cross would be really useful. - The ability to copy and paste any edits. - The ability to draw, like you can when editing on desktop.
Use monospace font when visualizing txt files in the mobile app for Android
I find it very useful that the Android app has a built-in viewer and editor for txt files, but I really NEED the font to be monospaced because there are eg. tables and other manual alignments. The font is currently proportional, with no way to change it. I notice this has been requested before (but for the iOS app) with no clear resolution - https://www.dropboxforum.com/idea/101002013/dropbox-app-text-in-monospace-font-on-ios/310261 . Please use a monospaced font for txt files. Even on the www.dropbox.com web site, the built-in txt editor already uses a monospaced font.
Option to convert PDF files to Word in Dropbox
Being able to convert pdfs to word within dropbox would save so much time and less frustrating when its going to get saved to dropbox anyways. the security alone through you guys makes me feel a lot more comfortable dealing with HIPPA related documents without any worries. i know in the past it was brought up but did not gain any traction to make it happen.
