This information is not required, but it makes it easier for our Community members and support team to help you. Application Affected Dropbox for Windows Device Microsoft Surface Pro9 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue The Dropbox folder is presented twice in File Explorer in Windows. Both instances are directly under Desktop in the folder tree. Both instances represent the same folder, i.e. D:\Dropbox\. Both show the same synced content when I click them. So they are really just two copies of the same, expected, Dropbox folder. Is there a way to get rid of one of them?Solved38Views0likes5CommentsModification date after downloading files
Hi, I want to reinstall Windows on my PC. Then I want to reinstall Dropbox and download all the data back to my PC via the Dropbox app. What will the modification date of the downloaded files be? Will it be the day of the download, or will it remain unchanged?11Views0likes0CommentsDesktop App stuck on "Updating Dropbox account..."
Hello, I logged on this morning to find that my desktop app (Windows 10) for Dropbox is stuck on "Updating Dropbox Account..." and won't budge. I even attempted to re-install Dropbox, and that didn't work. Can someone help me with this, please? Thanks, AimeeSolved15KViews2likes30CommentsWindows 11 Dropbox not syncing. The solution to make it work is to close it, and open it again.
Hello everyone, I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else: Dropbox stops syncing on Windows 11. I have been working on this problem on and off for several days and none of the "known" solutions are working: after a few hours/day, Dropbox simply stops syncing. When I close Dropbox and re-open it, it's starts syncing normally again. Even if I pause syncing and resume, it's starts syncing again normally. But if I leave my PC unattended for a day or so, it stops entirely until it is restarted. My bandwidth/Internet connection is excellent, there are no strange files/sizes, I'm on the latest version, all power-save settings are disabled, there are never any errors, I've been a paid Dropbox customer for over a decade without any significant issues. My account/payment is in good standing, I have removed and reinstalled the app, I have my folders on the local hard drive, firewall is default, everything is as it always has been - since Windows 11, Dropbox simply stops syncing. i.e. goes idle. At this moment, is is running, no crashes or errors, but it hasn't sync'd since yesterday and shows "Up to date" in the status. Is there anything I'm missing? Anything that I should do differently? Thank you! David4.1KViews1like16CommentsDropbox App unexpectedly quit on Windows 10
I get an error when I try to open the Dropbox app saying "Dropbox unexpectedly quit. Your files are safe. Restart Dropbox..." It started about two weeks ago (and around the same time as two other unsolved posts on the forum). Two days ago I formatted my computer and reinstalled programs. This morning I opened the computer and saw the same error. Running Windows 10. Does anyone have any suggestions?Solved15KViews1like41CommentsIn the Event Manager, every second it shows " Failed to connect to the driver". What is this?
Hi, In Event Manager, every second it shows " Failed to connect to the driver: -2147024894, retrying in 1000 milliseconds¨ ID:320 (DbxSvc). Is there an update error or something else? Thank you!Solved23KViews0likes27CommentsOnly want to sync specific folders synced on my other device.
I have all my files in Dropbox on my PC. I want to "some" of them, not all of them on my laptop. When I downloaded Dropbox on the laptop, I ended with "all" files on the laptop. Can someone please let me know how to remove those files I don't want on the laptop? Or do I have to start all over? And then if I have to start all over, how do I only get the files I want? Thank you!14KViews2likes6CommentsDropbox app is constantly creating desktop.ini files - how can I disable this?
As per the title; the latest dropbox is now generating desktop.ini files pretty much as soon as they're deleted (they were recreated only on dropbox starts earlier, so a delete upon startup was all I needed). This is detrimental for me; how can I disable this behaviour? They are pretty meaningless files, too, this is all in it: ■[ . There's also no promise of any solution, ever. This is what you get you bloody miserable user for paying for this product. Best Option: use another product.Solved12KViews7likes35Comments
