9 TopicsAI Assistant to understand contents and organize Dropbox files
I’m a personal plan user and would like to request an AI assistant that can actively organize my Dropbox, not just search it. What I’m looking for is a chat-based AI that can understand the contents of my files and folders and: - Execute direct instructions (e.g. “Rename these files using this pattern”) - Propose organization actions and apply them after confirmation Examples of actions: - Renaming files based on their content and a given naming pattern - Moving and grouping related files into appropriate folders - Identifying duplicates, similar, or outdated files and deleting or archiving them Dropbox Dash is a great step for discovery, but I’m looking for AI that can turn intent (“this belongs with that”) into actual file operations inside Dropbox.118Views3likes1CommentTurn Auto Play off for audio Files
Please add a way to stop audio files from playing instantly, as soon as you open them. On the Dropbox app, using an iPhone, the minute you open the file it starts playing. If you have previously played that audio file and paused it half way through, you can't stop it from playing in time to take it back to the start. We use Dropbox for our choir and keep our backing tracks and sheet music together. During a performance we need to make sure all the files have been returned to the start and we can't have them ready to go to press play.146Views3likes2CommentsOption to automatically lock a file.
We constantly have issues with conflicted copies! Yes - even though there is the badge that shows up, and even though file locking is an option if done manually. I've done research and MANY other systems support this feature. I've been a long-time Dropbox user, but am looking aggressively at changing due to this issue. It shouldn't have to be a manual process to prevent someone else from opening the same file I am currently working on and saving a conflicted copy. Who would remember to do a manual file lock each and every time they open a document?!222Views2likes3CommentsAutomatic logout
I think it would be great and very secure if dropbox logged out automatically after a period of time - decided by the owner of the account (for example after 1, 2 or x minutes) - when no actions have been made on it. This would prevent other user from using the account if the owner unadvertedly got away from the pc and left his account open. Thank you36Views1like1Comment
