1592 TopicsCan I recover empty (0kb) documents on joint Dropbox account?
Hello Community At my old firm we had a dropbox account as the shared document server. When we merged with another company I was removed from the account but the local Dropbox remained and I had access for some time. Now (2 years later) I can see all file names, but they are at 0kb) so empty files. Somehow important files seem to have been deleted at some point (we are not sure when) from he active accounts and the folder is empty. I however can see these empty files in my incactive dropbox but no data in them. Can these potentially be recovered? If so, how would we go about this? Thanks!Solved25Views0likes5CommentsDropbox data stolen and deleted

Hi, This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but it seems to be my only option. I recently discovered that my now ex-wife deleted some files from Dropbox. Most of them I don't care about, but one thing she did delete was my Keepass password database. This was done back in May. Many of the accounts that I've been using lately I knew the passwords off the top of my head so I didn't need to access the database. I tried to get to the database last week, and discovered she had deleted it. Stupid me should have backed it up, but I can't do anything about that now. At any rate, given that I'm on a Basic free account with the limitation that deleted files are not accessible after 30 days, is there any option for me here? I'll gladly pay a reasonable fee for this. Thank youSolved43Views0likes3CommentsSome of my files appear as 0 bytes and I can't open them/restore a previous version.
Hello All, Starting sometime this week, a large number of files in one of my folders are showing as "0 bytes" and I obviously cannot read them. I'm synchronising the folder with my mac, and thought maybe my mac corrupted the files? (I definitely did not use those files in the past months). I thought to 'recover' them from the dropbox.com site by going to "Version History" for each file but when I click on that I get to an error page: Error Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check out our Status Page to see if there is a known incident, our help center and forums for help, or head back to home. So I am also not sure how to recover these files? Very strange102Views0likes7CommentsFiles missing from Dropbox that I didn't delete. How can I recover them?
I just checked my dropbox (Dropbox basic) after months (maybe a year or two?) of not using it. It was at it's capacity so I started a new dropbox with a different email and more or less just stopped using the original dropbox. I just went into the old one to recover some files only to notice that the most important folder with loads of video/audio/media is gone. I don't see anything in the history log that would indicate I did anything to delete it. These files are very important to me and they're now just gone. Dropbox WAS my backup so this is extremely disappointing. I'm not sure if there is a way to recover the files at this point but any help would be much appreciated. Please and thank you! If your computer crashes or something happens to it...the backup that is essentially a "FOLDER" of you data is inaccessible without that original computer. If you OWN the data in that folder...you should be able to download it and delete the information in that "FOLDER". How hard could it be to simply request that the folder be changed from a "BACKUP" to a "FOLDER". Not a hard concept. Why is this not a thing? How hard can it be? 80% of my 2TB account is now USELESS because I can't delete the files. HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE? I have reqeusted the "BACKUP" be unlocked. For some reason they can't do it. I find it hard to believe this isn't a simple "folder permission" thing. If I can download it...I should be able to delete it and make room for other data. Are you seriously willing to lose customers over something as simple as data retrieval and disposal? Data is locked? And can't be unlocked? Not flexible. Not practical. Not functional. Epic FAIL. Dropbox. You aren't the only backup solution on the planet earth. RELEASE MY FILES.53Views0likes1CommentOne of my files was deleted while I wasn't using my Dropbox account and I can't recover it.

Hello, I have lost many very important work files. I cannot see any events in the page events from a certain date. I wonder if it is because I changed my loggin email at a certain point. How can I see all the events from my account? If I manage to find the events, is it possible to recover files before the 30days period for my current free subscription if I upgrade my subscription now? Thank you for your time!111Views0likes7Comments
