Searching IPTC keywords on the website: Why does Dropbox only kinda work?
Trying to use DB to store photos that have IPTC keywords applied to them. All information I find seems to say this should work, but when I do a search for a keyword only a few of the images with that keyword end up showing as search results. (Doing this via a browser window with Mac Safari) Anyone have experience with this? Why does this only kinda work? It doesn't make sense to me and is very frustrating! Am I doing something wrong?
Improvements on tag visibility and use
Hashtags are included on the File Info, but they are not easily visible. Adding a pane that could be turned on to view or add hashtags would be helpful to increase search-ability, as well as a hashtag master list where hashtags can be globally added or deleted. Right now, if you mistype a hashtag, you can delete it from use the file, but there is no way to globally delete it, so it could accidentally be chosen again.
Automation won't apply to existing files. How can I achieve that?
I have a directory with a very large number of files (several thousand) that I only access online. All of the files have names based on their date of creation (eg 2025-07-01-7:00.txt). I would like to organize these into subdirectories based on their date. From the dropbox website, I added an automation to sort these files into subfolders based on the month of file creation. I clicked on "Apply to existing files" when creating the automation. However, once the process starts, I get a Notification: "Automation will apply to new files added to (Folder), but not to existing files" Why isn't it applying the automation to existing files? How can I organize the existing files? There are too many files to do this by manually clicking boxes. Thanks.It'd be nice to have a way to locate duplicated files.
It would be great to have a duplicate finder or a duplicate alert - so if a photo file with the same exif data was uploaded, there was a notification. I'm sorting through old stuff currently and found a few duplicates and this would same me lots of time !
