Hi psalm32034, since you mentioned the Downloads folder, are there any files on the Dropbox Backup page?

Just to check this on your end, you can see how much of your space you're using here.
If you see that your account is full, you can use the steps in this article, to see the size of your files and calculate the size of your folders in Dropbox, to see which files take up your space.
As for the issue you reached out for, can you reinstall the Dropbox app and then follow the steps here, to see if you can reset your desktop folders' location?

its not in the system and not running
as I said I disablet it some month ago as it stated "DB full" although I deleted half the files. Just to charge me...
Cheers!

Thanks for the update, Timo.
If the location of your downloads folder changed to be in Dropbox, it does sound like you enabled the backup feature.
Do you remember uninstalling the Dropbox app? Do you see a small Dropbox icon in your system tray?
If you do, you should be able to follow the steps to disable backup in the article I linked in my previous reply.

Did you previously enable our backup feature?
No
See, what it did. It is unbelievable!! Aside of that, my free dropbox was full, system asked me pay for subscription, I deleted half of my files but db still keeps on telling dropbox ist full.
It moved my Download folder to dropbox to force me to subscribe your service!
C:\Documents and Settings\timob\Dropbox\Download
normally it should be C:\Documents and Settings\timob\Downloads
timo is my name
It is really unbevlieable what you guys are doing.
Some of your managment must be ugly people.
The sofware is not visibly loaded. I didn't use it for half a year. But it is still accessing my pc...
Well, sorry Hannah! Not against you.

Hey timmm, thanks for commenting here and sorry to see you're having trouble.
If I understand correctly, you've lost your 'downloads' folder.
Did you previously enable our backup feature?
If so, can you take a look inside your Dropbox folder to see if you can find a "PC" folder, containing your downloads folder?
If it's not there, make sure to check your deleted files page as well.

dropbox delted my download folder with files kept since 2016. This although it was inactive. I disabled dropbox to load upon start. don't what to say.... Feels like fraud. They have access to my pc. I am refusing to extend my subscription. This is the revenge I guess.
