Not overwriting files anymore
I recently installed Dropbox on a new machine and now whenever I download a file from Dropbox onto my PC, instead of overwriting the existing file, it appends (1) to the file name instead and retains...

9 months agoHey Steve_H - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
I'm not sure why you'd need to download the file if you have the Dropbox desktop app installed on your computer, but can you please walk us through the exact steps you take to do this and send us a screenshot so that we can have a visual too?

I save a Word doc to dropbox on one machine and then download it on another to replace an older version of the file

Are you downloading the file manually to your computer, or are you having the file sync from the Dropbox desktop application to your Dropbox folder?
