All my files are syncing automatically, Dropbox is now full and trying to sync more.
I did not try to add any files to Dropbox, it started syncing all my files on it's own, is now full and is still wanting to sync more. Can this be stopped? If I delete the unwanted files will they ...
- 8 years agoSorry to hear about that, Binda.Have you tried pausing the desktop app from syncing and then removing the files from the Dropbox folder by any chance? Please remember that the Dropbox folder is just like any other folder on your computer, but with syncing capabilities. This means that if you delete the files from the Dropbox folder, they will be deleted from the website and other connected devices. If you still want to keep the files on your device, but out of your Dropbox folder, try temporarily copying-pasting them or completely moving them to another folder on your computer. You can find more info about what happens when you move files/folders outside of the Dropbox folder here.I hope this helped to some extent. Let me know how it goes! :grinning:

8 years agoHey Diane H.15!
If you delete files from the website, then they should be deleted from any connected devices as well.
To see how much space is available and how much is being taken up by personal/shared content, just navigate to the Plan tab.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
