621 TopicsMy Dropbox folder silently disappeared and I haven't accessed it recently.
I am a paid Dropbox user. I use it very often but not very folder is used all the time. Today I tried to retrieve some data from a folder I visited about a year ago. I found it disappeared. No trace, no way to find it anyway. Can't find it in deleted folder either. Does anybody has similar issue? Can I get some advice on this? Thanks.116Views0likes4CommentsDeleting an account I no longer have access to
Question or Issue I created a Dropbox account years ago using the "log in with Google" feature so I never had to set up a password. That Google account now no longer exists, so I am unable to access my account. Is there a way to delete it? I've already contacted support but they didn't get back to me about the deletion request. I know that if you don't log in in 12 months or so your account will be deleted due to inactivity, but I'm pretty sure that my account has not been accessed in a very long time and despite that I was able to log in a few months ago (when I still had access to the Google account)72Views0likes1CommentTrying to delete files, not working. I refuse to just buy more storage space.
I am trying to make space in my dropbox on my HP computer, since I am getting a warning about starting to delete files unless I buy more storage space. I absolutely do not want to buy more space! It is a good time to delete some unnecessary files. So now I am permanently deleting all my deleted files, one by one. At some point it does not allow me to delete any more of them. I get no message to explain why, it just does not function. I am pretty sure it just tries to force me to buy more space. Any thoughts on this? Or, do you guys know of any other cloud services that actually allow you to manage your own data?219Views0likes14CommentsMysterious mass deletions after moving to a new computer
Device Mac Air 13" M5 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Tahoe 26.3 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 244.4.6580 Question or Issue Heavily use Dropbox for my business and love the application, however I just transitioned to new computer and when moved over Dropbox has been auto generating an enormous (tens of thousands...enough for Dropbox to send me emails wondering if something is wrong) number of files in the delete folder. These files have unusual names, none of which I have generated or used. They include names such as: Album-prepare-marker.plj, journalAttr.101616, .dat.nosync2FO.JZcDX8, and a lot similar to eat_jounalAttr_BCE8333B1-A91E-4B9D-97B6-65618...E9_6289556_95721.processed, an entire folder with: file cache.DAE6E2DC-BE92-42E1-A959-1A562426A8D9 There are a lot of others, these are just a few. Can someone recommend how this can be addressed? It is clogging up my Dropbox, showing up in recent activity, and driving notifications to my email for things I haven't done. Appreciate the support. Device Macbook Air M1 2020 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Sequoia 15.6.1 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) unknown (deleted app a long time ago. Question or Issue Yesterday I received a message saying my memory was full on my Macbook Air. It's likley this was actually Dropbox. Went into storage to make space. Saw Dropbox and hadn't used it for years. Didn't have much in it so I deleted it and also wiped from bin. It must have been integrated into IOS as I've now lost my Desktop, Documents and Downloads. Only on a basic plan for Dropbox so don't have rewind option. What can I do short of factory resetting macbook and losing everything?98Views0likes4CommentsI don't have any files in my Dropbox account

Device: MacBook Pro, Tahoe 26.3 Operating System/Browser: Safari Question or Issue I was trying the "find duplicates" function available on the web interface because it's not available through the desktop app (on Mac at least). The web interface is almost completely unusable. As someone who has nearly 2 decades of files backed up, I have probably close to 100,000 duplicate files and I'd like to do a bulk find and delete. The web interface requires that I select every single file separately AND that I approve any deletion through a separate click - I can't even bulk-select files and approve a deletion. Is there a function that allows bulk deletion? Or do I have to buy a third-party tool for this? I have a pro account if that matters.Solved115Views0likes3Comments
