Automation of subfolders to keep the same pattern as the parent.
Is there a way to enable all new subfolders to automatically have the same automation as the parent folder, or even the grandparent folder? As far as I can see there isn't one.

Hey ABuckley, welcome to our Community!
As you guessed, at the moment this isn't possible. I'll forward your feedback to the appropriate areas so we can continue to improve.
If you need anything else, let me know!

An automation to convert any file in a folder to a pdf is not applied automatically to any subfolder. This should be possible in order to facilitate the process. Currently we have to do this manually.

Hey there jeromemuller, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday!
This should actually be possible now as I just gave it a go and it worked fine for files I uploaded to the sub-folder of the automated parent folder.
Can you give it a go again and let me know how it goes? Just click the folder where you’d like to add your automation> Click Add automation> then Convert Files to PDF. Note that you can personalize from there, and include files in all sub-folders as well.
I hope this helps and please keep us posted, Jerome.

Hi Walter!
Thank you for your feedback!
Unfortunately, it keeps not working! See the image below. The file 'Test file - comment expense' in the parent folder 'SecuChatExpensePlugin' has a converted PDF version. The same file is put into a sub-folder 'jerome.muller' and does not convert into a pdf version, nor does it happen to the file shared in our chat solution and automatically synced in the sub-sub-folder 'Expense Plugin Demo'.How did you configure it? When I try to do it at the configuration, there is no option to apply the same to sub-folders...
Thank you!

Hey jeromemuller, thanks for the additional info and screenshots.
Do you see the same if you try this from a different browser or a private browsing window as well?

Exactly the same on Safari...or an anonymous page...
While trying to set it up again...the only difference is that it gives me the option to also convert already existing files...but this does not apply to the sub-folders either. - Walter3 years ago

Thanks for the screenshot and the additional information jeromemuller - much appreciated.
Could you maybe create a new folder and try to set this automation there? Does it work normally with files added to sub-folders?

Hi Wagner,
Below the image with the new created folder:While creating sub-folder manually, there is the option to choose the option to also add an automation to them.
But when when we do not add this automation manually, files are not converted, which in that case does not meet our need, as the files uploaded via our solution create a folder per user and per conversation when they share files in them. But this creation of folders is an automated process, so not possible to add manually an automation process for the conversion of files.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this internally jeromemuller - most appreciated!
So, we've confirmed that the automation inheritance (i.e. the new sub-folders also get the same automation as the parent) is not available yet to users, but we've been testing it internally and have plans to implement it very soon, so we'll keep make sure to keep you posted with any updates that might come our way.
I know it's not much, but I sure hope this helps, Jerome.

Walter, I wonder if there is an update on the availability of the automation inheritance feature? I too would like to be able to enable it. Is there a Beta test or a way for me to try it out?
ABuckley, Thanks for asking this originally.
