CANCELLING A REWIND REQUEST!

How do I cancel a rewind request? I accidentally requested a file to rewind on my external hard drive backup instead of my main dropbox folder. How do I stop the rewind? It started syncing and changing my last backup of my external drive! I unplugged the external drive to keep it from doing the rewind but I can't figure out how to cancel the rewind (not pause it).  See screenshot below.  At the bottom it says everything is up to date.  It's what's going on at the top that I need to stop.  The far left number (114.03 GB) keeps decreasing which tells me it's deleting files.  Help!

Thanks for the screenshot, this is normal behavior, since the backup is a one-way process, from the external drive to the site.

The folder you see there should be the version of the external drive that you chose to Rewind to.

Hi Dayna62, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It is possible to undo a Rewind, by Rewinding to an earlier point before the Rewind itself.

Once this Rewind you've started has finished, you can choose an earlier point to get back to where you were before.

Thank you so much for your quick reply!  It doesn't appear that the rewind deleted my changes, after all.  I'll have to do a deeper dive to make certain.  However, when I pulled up my external drive folder in online Dropbox, the restored files show up like the screenshot below.  Just curious as to why they're listed separate and not blended into the external drive?

Thank you, Jay.  I've noticed that the rewind process is kind of stuck.  In the screenshot below, you'll notice at the top it's stuck at 119.9.  It hasn't changed in the last 36 hours.  But, at the bottom, it says everything is up to date.  Should I disable the external drive completely?

If you wish, you can disable the external drive backup entirely, however, if you do want to back it up again, it would need to be resynced to the site.

If you don't want to resync it, you could try rebooting your machine first to see if this helps.
