4 years agoHi Hanton, instead of that location, try clicking 'All files' above that folder, then selecting the folder on the right to get the option to delete the folder.

Hi Hanton,
You have to get out of the folder you want to remove and try to delete it while it's selected; you shouldn't get back into the same folder. Take a look on following screenshot:
Here folder 'Test' is equivalent of the one you want to delete. 😉
Hope this helps.

Desperately attempting to empty Dropbox of all content. Have spent about an hour so far. I've discovered this "folder" which appears to have no properties other than using 2.3 GB. I want to COMPLETELY REMOVE this folder and all its contents (I have already deleted the desktop app in the hopes of stopping sync.) Please explain how to do this.
I have screen shots but can't see how to attach them to this message.
The folder is called "downloads" - it has many items, none of which I want. It's in Backups/PC. I'm not linked to any devices.
Thank you.

Backup/PC is a special folder that can't be deleted. It's created when you enable the computer backup feature, which MOVES key folders like Desktop, Documents and Downloads into your Dropbox folder so they'll sync.
To move the folder back, you first need to disable the computer backup feature, then you can restore the folder back to its original location.

Can someone please help me. My folder list to the left does not let me delete. I'm not in the folder, I am also using the desktop site, not the desktop app. I want to delete the folder Story Album but it won't let me.

I did. I am the only owner of this folder and there is nothing under the 3 dots.

No 👆 You didn't!!! Again, navigate to the folder that contains your "StoryAlbum" folder, not inside the folder you want to delete! In such a way you won't be able delete it (as already discussed previously) - read more careful.
PS: In your case the containing folder is the Dropbox folder, so just select it (i.e. one level up) and remove from there your "StoryAlbum".
- ncarter3 years agoNew member | Level 2That's what I'm saying the folder above that is a completely separate album. One that I need. These are all individual folders under all files.
So what am I doing wrong? - Megan3 years ago

Hi ncarter, let's jump right into this!
Based on the screenshot you provided, it looks like there's your "base" which is the root of your account, and in that root, you then have some folders including the "Story Album" folder.
You need to access the root of your account, and delete the folder from there.
You can do this by visiting your home page, selecting the folder, and the delete option should be right there.
