As indicated in the other thread, this change in behavior was implemented by Microsoft, not Dropbox, and is now the default when dragging out of a root sync folder in Windows 11. If you want this behavior to change, I would suggest posting on Microsoft's forum.

Ok, thanks Rich. I thought maybe another disgruntled Dropbox user found a solution, but of course I can ask at Microsoft. Happy holidays.
