Hello, I'm on an ASUS Zenbook running Windows 11. I have a shared dropbox folder that constantly has files getting wiped/copied (when they get copied they are empty) showing up on the dropbox. It always shows me editing the file and its usually multiple at the exact same time. All the files have nothing in them and instead are blank. I know you can restore the file but its been happening for months and across multiple different shared folders and its honestly a headache to fix. Help appreciated, thanks in advance.57Views0likes4CommentsI can't edit Excel spreadsheets on my Dropbox mobile app (Android 13).
For the last 3-4 months I have not been able to edit, delete or add Dropbox entries (an Excel spreadsheet) on my Android phone app (Version 13). The app always asks me to sign into Microsoft. When I do I end up in Excel, not Dropbox, with not the Dropbox file. I am signed into my Dropbox account. I can see/read the spreadsheet. When I select the edit button I get sent to Microsoft Office. Ever since I started using Dropbox on my phone (many, many years) I have always been able to update my passwords on the Excel Dropbox spreadsheet. I can edit on my computer and the data will sync with my phone app. I used to be able to access the edit function on my phone, which would then sync to the Dropbox on my PC. Does anyone have any suggestions, as to what I am doing wrong? Thank you, in advance.88Views0likes2CommentsModifications on file from Dropbox account A don't show up on Dropbox account B

See attached ..... They all have the same information but we add to this file daily .... I don't know what has happened and how to get the information back ? Question or Issue Hello, I was looking around to use dropbox for my work. In my line of work, we use a lot of CAD program files. Because, of that it take a lot of space to have all the files in every pc. When we use those files at the same time, the dropbox is notifying us to avoid double wolkload. My question is does this feature works for the online option, too?Solved53Views0likes1CommentI have edit access on an Excel file but I can't save my changes through the Dropbox Android app
Device Motorola g54 5g Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 15 Question or Issue I can open an excel file with sheets that has been shared with editing access. I can open to edit and can make changes. When I try to save these I get to options. To device or Google's cloud. Doing neither option seems to save the changes in the administrator's copy. What have I done wrong?Solved89Views0likes5CommentsRenaming files on the Android app adds a "-1" to the filename and removes their extension.
Device Lenovo Tab P12 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 15 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 440.2.4 When I try to rename a file, I see a second line which adds "-1" to my new file, doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get rid of it. Not only it does not make sense, but it has corrupted so many of my files as very often it rewrites also the extension, so when trying to rename documnet.pdf, it will rename it either document-1.pdf or even worse to document-1 NO EXTENSION. Then I have to download the file to my tablet, open it via my local file explorer, add ".pdf" extension and then I can use it. Today I upload a WORKING pdf file to dropbox, and without renaming it, it removed the extension, so I was unable to send it via email or whatsapp to other people, I couldn't do anything with it, and the worst thing is that I cannot do such an easy job as rewriting the FULL name of the file whatsoever as this app for a very strange reason doesn't allow rewriting the extensions for me I know I am not the only one, because recently a pdf file was shared in a group chat of my colleagues and nobody was able to open it after downloading it (whole thing was outside dropbox), when I donwloaded it it was called "file.-1" , I asked the person if she uses dropbox and she confirmed, but she didn't know that your program can corrupt our files.Solved271Views0likes11CommentsWant to share your feedback on Dropbox/Microsoft Co-Authoring?
This thread is about the Microsoft co-authoring feature for Dropbox. If you’re reading this, you might already know that we are looking for feedback on our new desktop co-authoring tool. Any feedback you can share with us will be invaluable as we continue to work on this experience, so you can have your say now. If that sounds interesting to you, below are some of the guidelines for how to enable co-authoring and how to report your findings. If you want to find out more about Co-Authoring, visit our Help Center article here. How to Enable To get started, add Dropbox as a Place (Windows) or Storage account (Mac). To do so: Open Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel on your desktop. Click File. Click Open. Click Add a Place (Windows) or Manage Storage Accounts (Mac). Click Dropbox (Beta). Log in with your Dropbox credentials. Click Log in. This will now add Dropbox as a location to open and save files. Co-Authoring Requirements You will need the following in order to use the co-authoring function: Office 365 Business license is required Perpetual licenses (e.g., Office 2016, 2019 etc.) are not supported. Customers must be on a Dropbox Standard, Advanced, Business, Business Plus, or Enterprise plan. How to Submit Bugs? If you notice any bugs while testing, report an issue with co-authoring to Dropbox, send an email to support@dropbox.com or submit a request through our support portal. Known Issues We’re aware of some issues already, listed below, so no need to share these ones, but if you see anything additional or have feedback on these, please report that: Files larger than 100 MB will be slow – especially if you have many other programs open at once. You cannot open files larger than 250 MB. If you’re collaborating with external partners (or anyone without co-authoring), they need to have co-authoring enabled to edit on web. If not, they’ll be able to open a “view-only” copy. If there are issues opening files directly from File Explorer or Finder, please try opening files inside Office 365 apps to start co-authoring. After adding Dropbox (Beta) - all other open Office applications should be restarted (to avoid necessity of signing-in multiple times) OAuth flow on mobile is a bit tricky. It will try to open the Dropbox app after you enter your email. You need to hit cancel in the top left and continue the OAuth flow inside the office app If Dropbox (Beta) is not present on mobile devices (iOS, Android) after successful sign in to Microsoft account - please restart application. For co-authoring Word Doc on MacOS - there is some lag for live edits (by other authors) to be shown regardless of the file size. This is especially true when just starting a session. Once users connect Dropbox storage inside Office 365 apps to enable co-authoring, Dropbox Badge will no longer be supported Joining Beta Waitlist If you and your team are interested in the Microsoft Co-Authoring beta, please submit this form to be added to the waiting list. We truly appreciate you testing this beta, and please share any and all feedback with us in this thread so that we can make desktop co-authoring experience the best it can be. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.9.2KViews1like1CommentEditing a PDF form on the Dropbox website shrinks field length as you zoom in
I have an issue with a PDF form (that I didn't create) that allows you to enter text to fill the visible space but if you zoom in, that length reduces until at say 400% it will only allow 4 characters but a full name at 100%. It works fine in Adobe Reader allowing the same amount of characters regardless of zoom, typing until you hit the end of the field box. In Drop box the font matches the document as you scale it, but the field length appears to be incorrectly constrained by a physical length instead of one that scales with the % selected. I've tried on a couple of machines but I don't have a creator handy to make a doc with a visible field only (I guess to enable no clipping of info when printed) to see if it happens with something I made rather than just their document. I'm guessing the document has something like "Scroll long Text" disabled for the fields. I'm also guessing that possibly Dropbox's internal PDF Editor is restraining the text entry to a length at 100% regardless of the actual view %. (I'm simply opening the document from within Dropbox with the EDIT options available to the file.) I'm using Chrome via Win10 machines. Did you know you can SHAME AI like Copilot into giving a better answer... just ask if that was the best it could do when using it...
