My files appear to be empty after editing
Hello, I'm on an ASUS Zenbook running Windows 11. I have a shared dropbox folder that constantly has files getting wiped/copied (when they get copied they are empty) showing up on the dropbox. It always shows me editing the file and its usually multiple at the exact same time. All the files have nothing in them and instead are blank. I know you can restore the file but its been happening for months and across multiple different shared folders and its honestly a headache to fix. Help appreciated, thanks in advance.
Persistent Indicator for Files with Unresolved Comments
Currently, Dropbox shows a comment notification only when a comment is new or unread. Once the comment is read, the indicator disappears even if the comment is not resolved. This makes it hard to see which files still require attention. I would like Dropbox to introduce a persistent visual indicator (badge, icon, number, highlight, or any small marker) that appears whenever a file has unresolved comments, regardless of whether they have been read already. Why this matters: Teams use comments for review and approvals. After reading a comment, there is no quick way to see that the file still needs action. Users must open each file and check the comments panel to find unresolved comments. This leads to missed feedback and slower collaboration. How it could work: Show a small badge next to the file name in the file list when unresolved comments exist. In the file preview, show a subtle “unresolved comments” indicator even if all comments are read. User impact: This would help teams working with shared documents by making outstanding work visible at a glance, reducing mistakes and speeding up reviews.
I can't edit Excel spreadsheets on my Dropbox mobile app (Android 13).
For the last 3-4 months I have not been able to edit, delete or add Dropbox entries (an Excel spreadsheet) on my Android phone app (Version 13). The app always asks me to sign into Microsoft. When I do I end up in Excel, not Dropbox, with not the Dropbox file. I am signed into my Dropbox account. I can see/read the spreadsheet. When I select the edit button I get sent to Microsoft Office. Ever since I started using Dropbox on my phone (many, many years) I have always been able to update my passwords on the Excel Dropbox spreadsheet. I can edit on my computer and the data will sync with my phone app. I used to be able to access the edit function on my phone, which would then sync to the Dropbox on my PC. Does anyone have any suggestions, as to what I am doing wrong? Thank you, in advance.
Bypass Request Permission to Join Folder on "anyone with the link can edit" folders
It would be helpful in certain situations to be able to bypass the the "request permission to join folder" prompt when sharing a folder via a anyone with the link can edit permission. We already set the link to be anyone with the link. If they have the link, I'd like them to be able to edit the folder. This is already how it behaves in individual accounts.
I'm missing information from a file and it's not in the version history - can I get it back?
Hi, Please can someone help? I'm missing 4 months of information in one of my excel files. Information from June 2025 to 6 October 2025 …… I need to restore all the information up until the 6 October 2025. I've looked at all the version history files and they all the same with missing information for 4 months .... Is there any other way to find this information ... It's extremely valuable. See attached ..... They all have the same information but we add to this file daily .... I don't know what has happened and how to get the information back ? Thanks
