585 TopicsEditing PDFs in Dropbox from my iPad
I'm trying to edit/markup PDFs that I have stored in Dropbox from my iPad. I'm using an Apple Pencil that's capable of "markup." The adobe integration was meant to be the answer for this; however, Adobe is now charging extra for the ability to edit. Apple allows you to edit Dropbox PDFs nicely through files; however, this seems to be hit or miss as sometimes the files won't open or get re-directed to Dropbox. Are there other ways to edit PDFs from the iPad and have it sync with Dropbox? This would seem like it should be a top priority for an added feature. OneDrive, for example, has the functionality built directly into their app. Any help would be much appreciated.Solved39KViews9likes12CommentsAllow editing of Dropbox Capture transcription (and thus closed captions)
I am trying out Dropbox Capture. Unlike Loom, there appears to be no capacity to edit transcripts and associated closed captions. Surely I am mistaken! The ability to edit a transcript (with flow-on effects to closed captions) is integral to reliable video production. Please remedy. I won't be using DB Capture until that is done.5.1KViews7likes14CommentsUnable to rename a file after copying it from another file
Hi, I created a copy of a file in my dropbox folder using the Macos Finder. However, I am now unable to rename the new file via the Finder. I can rename via the command line (`mv` command), but that's not really a great situation. Also, if I try to delete the file, it asks me if I want to permanently delete it, instead of the expected behavior which is to move it to the trash. Can you help me understand why this happens, and how to avoid it? Thanks!1.3KViews5likes4CommentsThe ignore folder feature is not working.
I can confirm that I'm seeing the same behavior that cabreu described: ignored folders don't get synced BUT the dropbox app continues to monitor them anyway and performs some level of processing whenever files are added/removed/edited from inside ignored folders 😩 Unfortunately this all but defeats the purpose of an "ignore" feature for many of us. We need dropbox to truly ignore (i.e. do not react to changes within) certain folders to preserve system resources.9.2KViews5likes28CommentsOption to rename a file before uploading through the iOS app is not working
Suddenly today (and for the first time ever that I can remember) the RENAME button in the iPhone app upload is dead (does not work). Help please - I need to rename before uploading anything to Dropbox. Thanks, amcofficeSolved467Views4likes17CommentsEdit text file in browser
Hi, it would be *really* useful to be able to edit .txt (text) files in browser. There are several threads asking for this, and it's possible in the Dropbox apps on mobile. Please support light weight text editing in browser. I can sign, save, download, upload, etc. I just want to change one word in a file without doing that. Please help! I am often on a work computer and want to edit my files in dropbox, but only option is web interface, and that doesn't have an edit feature. I have applied tags to my photos, but the tags are not showing up in the search bar. When I perform the search, I get results that I assume Dropbox's image classifier has unhelpfully recognized as related to my tag search, but I am not able to filter results that actually have that tag. I have cleared my cache, used Firefox and Chrome browsers (most recent versions), I have used the browsers in incognito/private modes, used Windows and macOS operating systems (most recent versions), and tried searching via my desktop file explorers. Nothing works. I have not tried to move the photos into a new folder to tag them there, because the entire point of adding tags was to filter photos that I wanted to move in the first place.Solved8.4KViews4likes19Comments
