My desktop folder got into Dropbox. How can I delete it from Dropbox only?
I don't know how my desktop folder got into Dropbox. I would like to remove it and keep it just on my desktop. How do I delete it from Dropbox without losing it? Thank you!

2 years agoHi again, acandee.
To find the options to disable backup, you'll need to go through the Dropbox application preferences.
You can find those, if you click on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and then on your initials/profile pic.

Hi...I've sent screenshots of my dropbox screen. I do not see a profile picture or initials. I do not see preferences. My question is simple: if I delete the Desktop in Dropbox will it still remain on my computer desktop. And can I stop Dropbox from continuing to bring in my Desktop. Thank you for your help.

Hey acandee.
To stop Dropbox from backing up the desktop folder and from preventing it from getting deleted, you first need to follow the steps I linked above to disable the backup.
Do you have a small Dropbox icon in your menu bar at the top of your screen, by the WiFi icon?
That's where you need to click to find the options mentioned.
Let me know how you do.
