Need to be able to recover a version of a file from a specific date

Need a way to get a version of a file from a specific date. I can see version history, but I don't want to scroll through hundreds of versions to get to the one I want...

    I should have said, I would like to see versions of files changed on or before a specific date, since it might be a rough date

    Doesn't help, it allows me to pick a date and shows all the events on that date, but when I click on a file link, it just downloads the latest version
