If you're not getting that prompt when trying to move a folder again, you can try these steps, but instead of fixing your hardlinks and/or permissions, you'll need to choose the option to reset your file system warning options.

Unfortunately, that did not fix the issue.
Let me try to explain again using an example…
- Open a Dropbox folder on a Mac
- Click & hold on any file or folder
- Drag that file or folder onto the Mac desktop
Here is what is happening on my Mac now:
- The file (or folder) copies to the Mac desktop
- BUT the original file (or folder) in Dropbox remains
That’s not what I want. I want the action to move the file (or folder) from Dropbox onto my desktop.
I have multiple other Macs and it works as I want on all of them. But it’s not working like that on my new Mac mini. All of them are running the same version of macOS.

Hi from me as well, Ed Martin!
If this action dialog is coming from your OS, you won't be able to change the setting through Dropbox, but through your OS settings; have you tried searching there?
You can contact Apple for assistance on that as well.

Thanks! Yes, I have. The functionality for non-Dropbox items (files or folders) works as expected. It's only the DB files and folders that are different.
